One Foot in Hope: A Chadash Fundraising Evening | August 2nd at Blanchard Family Wines
One Foot in Hope has become one of our favorite evenings of the year. It is a chance to gather with friends old and new, share a meal and wine in the heart of Denver, experience live performances by our company dancers, and celebrate what we’ve created together while looking ahead to what’s next. Your evening also includes a ticket to our August production, H(You)mane.
This evening directly supports the work we create throughout the year. Funds raised help us invest in our artists, create new work, support educational programming through CDI, and continue bringing dance to our community. Our goal is to raise $25,000, and every ticket and every gift makes a meaningful impact.
As we reflect on the past ten years, we keep coming back to the people. Some of our most meaningful moments happen after performances, when audience members share how deeply a work resonated, how seen they felt, or how a story gave them hope. Those moments are why we continue to create.

Colorado Dance Initiative invites dedicated and passionate dancers to audition for the 2026–2027 season. Our company is committed to cultivating technically strong, versatile artists through professional-level training, meaningful performance opportunities, and collaborative creative experiences.

Audition Requirements
$35 Audition Fee
Registration available upon arrival
Dancers should arrive 15–20 minutes early to complete registration and prepare for the audition.
Audition attire should be form-fitting and appropriate for movement, allowing faculty to evaluate technical proficiency, artistry, and performance quality.
Online Auditions
For dancers unable to attend in person, video auditions will be accepted through August 17, 2026.

One Foot in Hope 2nd Annual Fundraising Event
We invite you to join us at our 2nd annual fundraising event, One Foot in Hope (new date, new location), for a night of fun as we celebrate the dreams and future of Chadash! We are thrilled that our second annual One Foot in Hope fundraiser will be held in Denver as a private event at Blanchard Family Wines in the Dairy Block, on Sunday, August 3rd from 5:30-8:30! Each ticket of $50 will include delicious food, wine, live entertainment by our incredible Chadash company dancers (with a preview of our August show!), and a raffle ticket.

What You Make of It
What You Make of It is based on the idea that the next generations are inheriting a world that sometimes feels dark and broken and are dealing with issues like disconnection, fear of missing out which leads to overextended lives, and hopelessness. Our story invites the audience to consider looking at life differently- to be the change we want to see in the world and to discover that we can shift our mindset from “it is what it is” to “it is what you make of it.” With thought provoking choreography performed by the prodigious dancers of Colorado Dance Initiative and the professional dancers of Chadash Contemporary Dance Movement, this show will be a powerful reminder of the power we have to create a different future, one with hope. In the end, each of us will be remembered for what we made with what we were given.
